How to Save TikTok Videos on Android: Complete Guide for Every Browser

Step-by-step instructions for downloading TikTok videos on Android phones using Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox, and other browsers.

Why Android makes this easier than iPhone

Good news: downloading files on Android is more straightforward than on iOS. Android's file management is more open, and most browsers handle MP4 downloads without any extra steps. The video file goes directly to your Downloads folder and usually appears in your Gallery app right away.

What you need

  • An Android phone running Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later
  • Any modern web browser (Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox, Opera, Brave)
  • The TikTok app installed (to copy the share link)

Step-by-step: Chrome on Android

Chrome is the most common browser on Android, so let us start there.

1. Copy the TikTok link

Open TikTok, find the video you want, tap the Share button (the arrow on the right), and tap Copy Link. You will see a "Link copied" toast at the bottom of the screen.

2. Open TikSave

Open Chrome and go to tik-save.com. If you visit regularly, consider bookmarking it or adding it to your home screen (tap the three-dot menu in Chrome and select "Add to Home screen").

3. Paste and resolve

Tap the input field on TikSave. Your keyboard should show a Paste option, or you can long-press the field and select "Paste" from the context menu. The TikTok URL will appear in the field.

Tap the Download button. Wait a few seconds while TikSave resolves the video metadata.

4. Download the file

Once the preview appears, tap your preferred format:

  • Download HD for the original quality without watermark
  • Download SD for a smaller file
  • Download Audio (MP3) for just the sound

Chrome will show a download notification in your notification shade. The file saves to your device's default Downloads folder.

5. Find the file

There are several places to look:

  • Notification shade: Swipe down from the top of the screen. The download notification shows a link to open the file.
  • Files app: Open Google Files or your device's built-in file manager. Navigate to the Downloads folder.
  • Gallery/Photos: Most Android devices automatically scan the Downloads folder for media files. Your video should appear in Google Photos or your device's Gallery app within a few seconds of downloading.

Samsung Internet browser

If you use a Samsung phone, you might prefer Samsung Internet. The process is almost identical to Chrome:

  1. Copy the TikTok link from the TikTok app.
  2. Open Samsung Internet and navigate to tik-save.com.
  3. Paste the link and tap Download.
  4. Choose your format.

The only difference: Samsung Internet saves files to its own downloads location. You can find downloaded files through:

  • Samsung My Files app > Downloads
  • Or the Samsung Internet menu (three-line icon) > Downloads

Samsung's browser also has a built-in ad blocker, which can sometimes interfere with download buttons on other sites. TikSave works fine with Samsung Internet's ad blocker enabled.

Firefox on Android

Firefox works just as well. The process is the same: paste the link, resolve, download. Firefox saves files to the standard Android Downloads folder.

One useful Firefox feature: it supports add-ons on Android. If you use a dark mode extension or a password manager, those will work alongside TikSave without issues.

Troubleshooting Android downloads

The download starts but the file is 0 bytes

This usually means your phone's storage is full. Check Settings > Storage and free up space if needed. Android will not always give you a clear error message when storage is insufficient.

The file downloaded but will not play

Make sure your video player supports MP4 with H.264 encoding. The default video player on most Android devices handles this fine. If you are using a third-party player and having issues, try opening the file with Google Photos instead.

Downloads are very slow

TikSave streams the video directly from TikTok's CDN to your browser. If downloads are slow, it is usually a network issue. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see if one is faster. Also, very popular videos sometimes have temporary CDN congestion.

Chrome asks to "Open" instead of "Download"

Some Chrome versions on certain Android devices try to stream MP4 files instead of downloading them. If this happens, long-press the download button and select "Download link" from the context menu. This forces a file download instead of streaming.

The video is not showing in Gallery

Some phones need a moment to scan new files. If the video does not appear in your Gallery right away, try one of these:

  • Restart your Gallery app
  • Open the Files app and tap the downloaded file once (this triggers a media scan)
  • Reboot your phone (this forces a full media scan)

Batch downloading tips

If you want to download multiple videos in a row, TikSave does not require you to wait for one download to finish before starting another. You can:

  1. Copy a link from TikTok
  2. Resolve and start the download on TikSave
  3. Go back to TikTok and copy the next link
  4. Switch back to TikSave, paste the new link, and start another download

Android handles multiple simultaneous downloads well. You will see multiple download notifications in your notification shade.

Storage management

High-quality TikTok videos range from 5 MB to over 100 MB depending on length. If you download a lot of videos, they can fill up your phone quickly. Some tips:

  • Use an SD card: If your Android phone has an SD card slot, configure your browser to save downloads to the SD card instead of internal storage. In Chrome, go to Settings > Downloads > Download location.
  • Use Google Photos: After downloading, videos saved to your Gallery automatically back up to Google Photos if you have backup enabled. Once backed up, you can delete the local copy to free space.
  • Clean up periodically: Go through your Downloads folder every few weeks and delete videos you no longer need.

Android vs. iPhone: which is easier?

Android wins here. The download-to-Gallery pipeline on Android is more direct. On iPhone, you have to manually save the file from Safari's download manager to Photos, which adds extra steps. On Android, the file just appears in your Gallery. It is one reason why TikSave sees higher usage from Android users.

Final thoughts

Downloading TikTok videos on Android is about as simple as downloading anything else on Android. Copy the link, paste it into TikSave, pick your quality, and the file lands in your Downloads folder. The whole thing takes less than 15 seconds once you get the rhythm down.
